Genus Nebrius

Author: Rüppell, 1837

Diagnostic Features:
Teeth more or less compressed in sides of jaws, forming imbricated series. Dorsal, pectoral, and anal fins apically angular, pectoral fins narrow and falcate.

Remarks:
The genus Nebrius is sometimes considered a subgenus of Ginglymostoma, but, following Garman (1913), Bigelow and Schroeder (1948), Garrick and Schultz (1963), Applegate (1974), and Bass, d'Aubrey and Kistnasamy (1975b), it is accorded full generic status.
